There are several ways in which you may make financial contributions to Mathews United Methodist Church.  The most common method is placing your contribution in the offering plate as it is passed at each of our worship services or during Sunday school.  Contributions may also be mailed to the church at Post Office Box 2066, Greenwood, South Carolina 29646-0066 or brought by the church office during office hours at 800 Wright Avenue.  Contributions in honor or in memory of loved ones are always welcome.

All undesignated gifts are placed in our General Fund to cover regular budget items as adopted by the Administrative Council.  In addition, we have funds for specific purposes to which gifts may be designated:  United Methodist Women (Circle 1 or Circle 2); United Methodist Men’s Club; United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF); Charity Fund; Building/Improvement Fund; Children/Youth Fund, Van Fund, and the Nursery Fund.

Contributions of non-monetary gifts must be approved in advance by the Administrative Council as being accepted by the church.  Likewise, the Administrative Council must approve monetary gifts designated to a fund other than listed above in advance.  Mathews United Methodist Church is registered as a 501(c) tax-exempt organization with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
